We have a release.

Dear home automation enthusiasts, Its time to celebrate, because with pride we can announce: LinuxMCE 1004 has been released! The final .iso and can be downloaded from: http://linuxmce.iptp.org/release/LinuxMCE-1004-final.iso A very big thanks to all the developers for their great effort to make this happen. Also to the ever so expanding LinuxMCE community for testing and reporting back. We are always looking for extra help. If you are a software-developer or a user with reporting skills, feel free to join us, helping improve LinuxMCE and getting it to the next level in home automation. You can join by the forum (http://forum.linuxmce.org) or in IRC-chat (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Chat) So whats next? LinuxMCE 1204, its currently in pre-alpha stage and being worked on very hard by the developers.

RC does not only stand for remote controlled cars and boats

Thanks to the endless work by our developers, we have a release candidate for 1004. Special thanks go to cfernandes and foxi for taking care of Asterisk, to L3mce for taking care of the DVD installer, TSchak and Uplink for their insight into the innerworkings of LinuxMCE and the Pluto legacy. The ISO image should be available soon on http://linuxmce.iptp.org/release. Enjoy and if we don't hear anything real bad in the next few days, it might even be the final. Thanks to all our users for testing, submitting bug reports, and patches. Best regards (and a Happy New Year) Peer Oliver Schmidt LinuxMCE Release Manager

Beta times

Finally, after lots of sweat, blood and cursing, we have LinuxMCE 1004 beta.
Special thanks for the beta go to l3mce for his dedicated and endless work on graphics driver and audio support, for his work on getting the DVD to be much faster installed than before. Thanks go to Tschak, sambuca and Uplink for squashing bugs nobody else dared to touch, to sambuca for providing those little bits of extra functionality that really help the end user enjoying LinuxMCE. Thanks to golgoj4 and merkur2k for their work with qOrbiter, and even though qOrbiter is still in an alpha stage, it already shows LOTS of promises for the future. Thank you to foxi352 for his amazing work with Asterisk (no more FreePBX yeah!), and together with merkur2k on his work for IPv6.

If I've forgotten anyone, let me know.

If you want the beta1 DVD, go and grab it from our sponsor IPTP.

Best regards

Peer Oliver Schmidt
Release Manager
