Support for an even wider variaty of HA system can easily be achieved. As an example, the Insteon PLC support was written by someone, who had no prior knowledge of LinuxMCE, nor on writing the GSD in Ruby.
Bottom line is: If the protocol is open, and it is possible from Linux to contact the devices, LinuxMCE can be made to support that standard.
